NCDCTA Competition Recognition Requirements

2008 Competition Recognition Application Form
- New for 2008 Only in-state competitions will be eligible for NCDCTA recognition. Tryon/Landrum/Columbus area will be considered in-state. Eventers may still submit out-of-state results reporting forms.
- Schooling shows wishing to apply for NCDCTA recognition should request a date approval from the recognition chairman (currently Sandie Dennis - sandiedennis@aol.com). Only one competition of the same discipline within 50 miles of another will be granted approval for the same day, on a first come, first served basis.
- Application may be emailed to recognition chairman, and must include any and all deviations from USEF rules. All show managers applying for recognition must be a current NCDCTA member, and if USEF member, must be currently in good standing. Other than the exceptions listed below, all USEF tack, safety and competition rules and guidelines should be followed. Any variation of USEF rules not covered by the exceptions listed below should be included on the application, and the respective NCDCTA Dressage/Eventing chairman will make the final decision as to recognition status.
- Allowable USEF rule deviations for NCDCTA recognized competitions:
- DRESSAGE JUDGES: Must be chosen from the current roster of USEF Dressage judges, USEF Event judges, or USDF L graduates.
- TECHNICAL DELEGATE: Not required, but show managers accept responsibility for rule enforcement.
- EVENT GROUND JURY: Not required, but show managers accept responsibility for rule enforcement, adjudication of inquiries, and agree to provide a competent, knowledgeable individual to judge stadium.
- EVENT COURSE DESIGNER: Not required, but show managers accept responsibility to ensure that all courses are up to current specs and safety standards.
- DRESS CODE: May be casual, including boots and bandages in the dressage ring.
- RESULTS: Must be emailed to NCDCTA Membership Secretary (currently Steve Nelles - ncdctamembers@nc.rr.com), Recognition Chairman (currently Sandie Dennis - sandiedennis@aol.com), and Communications Chairman** (currently Sue Smithson - smithson@pinehurst.net), as an attachment, in a standard word processing file (.dat or spreadsheet such as excel, but NOT a PDF file) within 10 days of competition. Shows submitting results to USEF may use the USEF format to submit results to NCDCTA. **Communications Chairman, directing web site updates, would prefer URL link to show web site if available. Classes must be sorted by rank (1,2,3, not 1st, 2nd, 3rd), include scores to three decimal points, and data must include the following:
- Show name
- Show date
- Show manager
- Judges
- Number of entrants in each class must be indicated
- Horse name for each ride
- Rider name for each ride
- Owner name for each ride
- All NCDCTA numbers as stated by entrant for each ride - in a separate field/column, not in (parenthesis) by name.
- For any TOC classes, the level test must be listed for each rider
- Failure to submit results in a timely manner may limit future NCDCTA recognition
