E. J. Schmeltzer Sportsmanship Award - The E. J. Schmeltzer Sportsmanship Award is a perpetual trophy donated by Sonya Griffin in memory of Mr. Schmeltzer of Schmeltzer's Tack Shop in Pinehurst, NC. He was an early supporter of the NCDCTA and was always ready with advice and awards when needed. This trophy is awarded at the Annual Awards Banquet to members or friends of NCDCTA for dedication and service to Dressage and Combined Training. The winner is selected by members at the Annual Business Meeting through nominations from the floor and secret ballot.
